Best Practice: Apply Labels to Deployment Version

Post Author: Joe D365 |

When working with integration packages or any code we sometimes need to rollback all the changes. Using TFS Labels will let you take a snapshot of the files deployed which will help you to review, build, or rollback changes easily.

This blog will show you the step-by-step process on how to apply labels.

1. Right-click on the file or folder you would like to have a label.

2. Add the Label.

If you need roll back or view the labeled version of code, you can find the label as shown below:

In the Source Control, go to Find, and then go to Find Label.

3. Type in the label you would like to find.

The Find button will display the matched list. Choose the label and retrieve the version for your files.
