HCL Technologies' Microsoft Business Applications Practice ("MBAP" formerly, PowerObjects) is seeking a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Engagement Change Management Consultant to join their award winning and growing team. This role will work closely with our leadership team and other key stakeholders to build, execute, and govern our DEI and Engagement Strategy for the MBAP organization. In addition, this role will work with our clients to build, execute, and advise on change management strategy; helping clients realize the maximum benefit of Microsoft Business Application technologies. In both internal and client facing capacities, this person will focus on the people side of change by partnering with executives and key stakeholders to envision intended future state, understand current state, and mitigate impacts from changes in business processes, systems and technology, job roles, and mindset shifts. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. The ideal candidate will have a highly strategic mindset, thrive in making order from chaos, and be an effective communicator with every level. This role reports into the Strategy & Change team.

Essential Functions

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Engagement Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with corporate DEI team to leverage enterprise offerings and tailor to Microsoft Business Applications Practice (MBAP) employees; partner with key stakeholders and serve as a primary driver of the development and implementation of any supplemental DEI and Engagement strategies that aligns with overarching HCL, MBAP, and departmental objectives, strategy, vision and roadmaps.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to weave DEI and Engagement strategies within initiatives and lead efforts to develop change management plans, conversation guides and talking points, toolkits, training, programs, and resources for attracting, building, and supporting a diverse, inclusive, and engaged workforce
  • Support the strengthening of the global culture by establishing and supporting the creation and deployment of employee surveys, metrics/scorecards, and maturity assessments; Perform analysis of outcomes using a data informed approach to develop and execute action plans for improvement
  • Conduct on-going market research on DEI and Engagement best practices, trends, benchmarks; Share and apply learnings as appropriate, as well as serve as an internal DEI and Engagement Subject Matter Expert


  • Change Management Responsibilities
  • Apply a structured methodology to lead change management activities in consultation with clients
  • Perform change management assessments to determine organizational size and complexity of the change as well as further assess specific change impacts to user groups
  • Create change management strategies based upon client needs, project scope, and best practices
  • Create actionable deliverables for the change management levers including communications plan, sponsor and stakeholder engagement plan, training plan, and sustainment plan
  • Facilitate client workshops using design-thinking
  • Work closely with client executives and Microsoft Business Applications Practice teammates (Project Managers, Business Analysts, Sales leaders, Solution Architects, etc.) to envision future state and define success criteria
  • Guide leaders to effectively lead the change within their teams
  • Support or lead communication and training efforts as needed
  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation and resistance management tactics
  • Evaluate individual, group, and company-wide progress of defined success criteria and adoption metrics
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Microsoft Business Applications and Power Platform technologies
  • Learn client systems through communications with our consulting team, interviewing clients, reading documentation, and hands-on exploration
  • Work in tight collaboration with our consulting team to provide estimates for change management and training efforts, as well as integrate change management activities into the overall project plan and status reports
  • Closely align with internal project stakeholders including leadership, sales, project directors, and project managers to ensure both customer success and meet internal objectives
  • Participate actively in innovation efforts and other functions of the Strategy & Change team

Required Skills and Experience

  • Exhibit Microsoft Business Applications Practice’s Guiding Principles
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and organizational skills
  • Deep understanding of DEI & Engagement best practices with at least (5) years of relevant professional experience developing and supporting a range of DEI and Engagement programs such as recruitment and talent retention, training and development, employee engagement, and communications
  • Demonstrated experience in program design, including planning, implementing, improving, and monitoring work with a DEI lens
  • Diversity Certification (CDP, DiversityFirst, or similar) preferred
  • Experience in collecting and interpreting statistical and demographic data
  • Ability to leverage story-telling and data to communicate and influence others toward a common vision or goal
  • Experience managing multiple strategic priorities simultaneously and independently
  • Ability to build trust and work collaboratively with all key executive stakeholder groups
  • Organized with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics
  • Superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Technical aptitude – conceptual knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or ability to learn
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools; experience with Prosci is a plus

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, as well as have a team player mindset; able to work collaboratively with and through others
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle
